Loading historical data from ib

Hi,
I am trying to backtest the eur/usd in the 15 minute timeframe with data from IB. for some reason It will not load data back beyond 1 year. Is there a way around this?

Thank you for your forum post.

Unfortunately you can only load data that is provided from your data provider, in this case IB will only allow you to download 1 year of minute data.

If you need more data you would need to connect to a data provider that provides more the 1 year of minute data. I have included links to our data only vendors, you will need to contact them to see how much minute data is available. To use a data only vendor with NinjaTrader you would connect to the data provider first and then your broker second.

Thanks Brett,
I have data that was posted on this site from xtrooper he compiled from gain capital. Does anyone know how reliable that data is? Especially since I am using 15 min timeframes?

Unfortunately I do not know, as I have no experience with the data exported from him. However I can recommend that the connection to GAIN is free to setup on yor end for data.

So We can connect directly to gain rather than importing the data manually? Do you have instructions on how to set this up? That would be great!
