Trying To Add Symbol RY

Hi,
I'm trying to add the EUR/JPY Futures to my Instrument Manager but I'm getting the "Error on loading chart data for 'RY 03-10 Globex':..." message.

I'm using Zen-Fire simulated for my data feed. I'm currently running version 6.5.1000.12 of NinjaTrader.

After searching the forum for a solution I've come to learn that NinjaTrader actually provides the historical data for many of the more popular contracts but possibly not this one. With that in mind, and after clicking OK on the error message, I waited for a bit to see if the chart would begin to populate, but it hasn't.

And, of course, I'm unable to see what I may be doing wrong.

I'm making the assumptions:
1) that RY is the correct symbol to map for Zen-Fire
2) that I've filled in the Instrument Editor fields properly.

I'm hoping you'll be able to spot my error! Here are the relevant windows:

Thank you for your post.

Using the information that you provided I am able to receive real-time data from Zen-Fire for the RY contract. You can test this by adding the created contract to the Default Instrument List.

• Select the instrument list you wish to add the instrument to via the "Instrument lists" drop down list in the upper left hand corner
• Select the exchange (Default recommend for equities) as this will route orders to your broker smart routing system
• Select the appropriate expiration date if this is a futures instrument
• Press the "<" button to add the instrument to the list

Then in the SuperDOM you can see the real-time data. Also, I receive the same chart message, which is indicative of no historical data from the NinjaTrader servers for the RY contract.

Please go to Tools-->Options-->Data and make sure Store Real-Time Bar Data is checked. This will save real-time tick data in the NinjaTrader database for future backfilling, in essence acting as historical data, but only from times when you are connected and viewing a chart for the RY contract.

Your response time is unbelievable!

I created a SuperDOM for RY and I can see the data.

The reason I wasn't seeing anything on the chart is because it is such an inactive contract. I checked again and there was a print on the chart (flat bar at one price). If I had realized how inactive it is I wouldn't have wasted your time or mine!

Ryan, is the symbol for EURJPY is really RY for zen fire?

I am trying to add EURJPY and can't in instrument mgr. I saw some folks are able to view chart, which is pretty active, has lot of bars and data since last week.

Hi,

Have you entered the specific contract information? In addition, make sure to have the correct front month selected. If I'm correct this should be June.
