    Getting started viewing live data

Just pulled the trigger on a lifetime single broker license of Ninja after messing with the sim / demo for a week or two.

Have an account with Amp/Dorman open but not funded. Waiting for the verification process to complete from my local bank.

    Zen is connecting fine.
    Gain is connecting.

Is it possible to start viewing live data at this point? If not Zen, maybe Yahoo or something. I see a Dorman demo Listed under accounts in the SuperDOM but the data doesn't seem to be moving
    normally.

    Hello tderrick,

Both Zen-Fire and Gain provide real-time data when connected. Zen-Fire provides futures data, while Gain provides forex data.

If this is not the case, please tell me what connection you use and what instrument you have selected in the SuperDOM.

Thank you Jason... How's the weather in your part of the world today??

Waking up with a clear mind and a fresh reboot seems to have done wonders!!

Data appears normal and charts came up well via Zen. I will observe a bit longer before I go home. (Slept over at the Office )

One question now... I was able to use the dynamic Super DOM in Sim while trading NQ. Is this not possible now that I'm viewing real data and close to trading live?

What I notice now with the charting is that there appears to be gaps in the data. - marks where there should be candle sticks. (One and five minute)

Thanks so much for getting me started...

        Sorry, Jason

        Hooked up to ZEN
77777DormanDemo Account (Pending Funding I presume)

        Is that enough info?

            Hello tderrick,

The weather is nice here in the Netherlands, no rain today

You should be able to trade in simulation using the Dynamic SuperDOM.

Are you unable to open up a Dynamic SuperDOM via File-->New? If so, please send me an email at support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com including the license you have entered at Help-->License Key. Please reference this forum thread as well.

As per the gaps, please right click the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data'. Check if the gaps will fill with data.

Please do not trade the DormanDemo account(!). Trade the NinjaTrader sim101 account instead.

              No Rain! Great!!

Looks like we have your normal rain here in Tennessee today....

              so here we go...

I was able to trade NQ with Dynamic superDOM using sim with sim feed.
Now that I'm connected to Zen and running sim account, No dynamic.
If this is a real world condition when trading futures (I will start with NQ), no worries.

              Dynamic opens fine.

Tried "Reload Historical Data" but every third or fourth candle won't fill. I just get a " - "

Switched from Dorman Demo to Sim.

              thanks for your time...

With 'No Dynamic' do you mean that once you are connected to Zen-Fire you cannot open up a Dynmaic SuperDOM anymore? If so, please send me your license key as per post #6.

What interval is selected in the NQ chart? Could perhaps post a screenshot of the chart?

Your license is set to use the Static SuperDOM, so upon trading futures you will need to use the Static SuperDOM.

The Simulated Data Feed is not real data, so data from Zen-Fire is different, since it is real market data.

No problem with the static SuperDOM

One last thing, Jason. Would you send me a link for setting up the free Yahoo data feed?

Thank you so much for your time. I'm sure we will be speaking again in the future.
