    Merge data problem

    Hi from Oklahoma

I am using ver 6.5 and have problem
merging the jun es contract with the
    data from the march contract

error message: Failed to call 'Add" method for period type "tick" Exception of type "system out of memory Exception' was thrown.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hello latkinso,

    Thank you for your post.

When merging the data from the 03-10 contract can you please choose only minute data to merge first to test if the issue occurs with that data.

Before doing that please repair your database. Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
    • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
    • Select the "Misc" tab
    • Press the "Repair DB" button
    • Press the "OK" button

In general the message you cited indicates that NinjaTrader is requesting more system resources for the task than is available. You can also try reducing the number of days for the merge of data.

        Hi Lynn,

Please go to Tools-->Historical Data-->Merge and then merge the contracts and dates in the same manner as the screen shot attached.

          Merge data

          Ok

This attempt produced the following message:

          No 'day'data available from intrument.
No 'minute' data available for 'to intrument' Historical data is required for the target intrument in order to properly calculate the adjustment factor.

No'tick' data available for 'to intrument'. Historical data is required for the target intrument in order to properly calculate the adjustment factor.

I am using zenfire data feed,

Not sure why this is not working properly

            Hi Lynn,

Can you please open a 1 minute chart for the ES 03-10 contract, then please change the interval to 150 ticks. This will store the data in the NinjaTrader database. Also, when creating the chart for the ES contract please specify the same dates as the merge.

Then please merge the data after disconnecting from Zen-Fire.

That message will continue to occur for day data as Zen-Fire does not offer daily historical data.

              merge data

Not having much luck getting this to work

Seems to be some type of problem. Any plans
for ninja to provide continuous contracts?

                Lynn,

NinjaTrader 7 will have automatically merged contracts based on the available data. You can review what is expected with NinjaTrader 7 at the following link.
                http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/NT7/NinjaTrader7.html

If you send an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com and mention this forum and ATTN RyanO we can work on this in a different manner to get this merge feature to work presently.
