Thank you for those hints. Figured it out. The format that works for Toronto TSE with an IB data connection is:
RY|TSE
TD|TSE
ANYTORONTOSTOCKSYMBOL|TSE
TSE of course is Toronto Stock Exchange, not Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Now the issue of bulk loading of symbols..
To get kinetick to read Canadian symbols in bulk, I used
Ninja...File/Utilities/Import Stock Symbol List...
set to Traded on TSE...
set to Currency Canadian Dollar
Pasted a list that follows format C.RY in the Import Stock Symbol list box
you can do this by grabbing a generic TSE stock list somewhere, pasting this into a spreadsheet, then appending before C. with a spreadsheet formula
For IB connection, you would rather back append |TSE to the symbol.
Test with a few symbols before you do a large bulk load. UPON TESTING, THE IMPORT LIST FACILITY WILL NOT READ A "|"
The thing is, using this method populates all the data sources in Instrument Manager, Misc tab, Symbol Map, with the same format. When I do this for IB, its going to overwrite the format for Kinetick.
Ninja staff - Any thoughts on how to construct an import list that would populate each connection uniquely?
PS: the character "|" cannot be read by the list import facility!!
any thoughts?
