NT hangs - leaves sticky menu artifacts on screen

NT 6.5, and beta NT7 also, sometimes hangs or crashes for miscellaneous reasons. When it does, it leaves my computer in an unstable state. After the crash, various Windows menu items are left on my screen and there is no way to remove this behavior short of a reboot, or resetting Windows display properties. Here is the scenario -
1. Start NT and it hangs - never finishes loading.
2. Kill process through task manager
3. Right click Windows desktop to bring up Windows desktop Properties dialog.
4. The "Properties" menu item sticks on screen and will not go away.

Resetting Windows display properties DOES clean up the screen, but invoking the Windows menu item again re-introduces the sticky menu item problem.

This behavior is same for NT6.5 and NT 7, and also applies to other misc Windows popup menus. This behavior only occurs after a NT crash.

BTW, NT "hangs" almost everytime I bring it up for the first time. I have to bring up NT, kill it because it hangs, then start it again, and live with these annoying sticky menu artifacts.

You will find the trace file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
The file will be named 'trace.YYYYMMDD.txt'

I am experiencing exactly the same problem as described running on Vista Business.
1. NinjaTrader 6.5 hangs after the splach screen
2. Right click to call up Task Manager to end the process. This also leaves a sticky menu item.
3. Run NinjaTrader again - this time it works.
4. Can't clear the sticky menu item unless I reset wWindows display
5. But it promptly reappears if I right click and select another menu item.

Have tried uninstalling NinjaTrader and reinstalling, but makes no difference.

This is usually a graphics driver issue. Can you please try turning off hardware acceleration and see if that helps? Also, it has been some help for people to turn off the Fading animations for tooltips and slide menus in Windows. Unchecking all the Fade/slide visual effects should help.

Turning off Animation in Vista seems to have got rid of the Sticky Menu Problem.
So far NinjaTrader seems to load ok.
