"Date to"/"Date from" in a backtest

    Hi,

I'm testing one strategy and can't get the test results for more than one day. When I put 1st April - 27th April, trades happen only on the 1st. For any period I put backtest trades happen only on the first date. Maybe I miss some setting? Sorry if this topic has already been discussed - I just couldn't find it. Thank you.

Olga, welcome to our forums - which broker or dataprovider are you using as you experience this?

      I use IQFeed.

Olga, so with IQ you're using then NT 6.5.1000.15 and IQFeed's client software 4.7.0.9, correct?

If you create a chart for your instrument in the same date range, does all data get populated successfully?

Please try disconnecting then from IQFeed and backtesting again on the same date range on the Strategy Analyzer as on the chart you created.

          Yes, correct.

It seems that the chart is correct.

I disconnected. The chart is OK, but the strategy was applied only for the first date of the range.

By the way, I have tested this on another PC today - the problem is the same. I still think that I'm missing something, otherwise people would notice earlier such a thing.

          Thank you for helping me.

OlgaD, this leads to the question, is perhaps your strategy 'locked' to work only on this particular day? Can you please test with our default SampleMACrossOver to verify?

            Thanks

SampleMacCrossOver works fine - trades take place every day. I will refer to our developer then. Thank you very much for your assistance!
