    Tons of missing data

    I was watching the market meltdown when I switched instruments. Was not able to get hardly any chart data for new instrument so went back to the old one. Same problem. Disconnected and reconnected. Closed program out and re-opened it, all to no avail. Get an error message about missing data.

    1.) Which data provider are you using with NinjaTrader?

    2.) Can you provide me with the specific text of the error message?

      My data provider is Zen-Fire. I'm no longer getting the message about missing data, but the data is not there. Very frustrating. Hard to trade without a complete chart.

      Right now, all the data between 6:33 and 12:49 Pacific Time is gone.

        Thank you for the clarification.

        Unfortunately, we are experiencing an outage in the NinjaTrader 6.5 historical data server. We are currently working to resolve this issue.

        I will update this thread as more information becomes available.

            Hi shali27,

            The NinjaTrader 7 historical data server was not effected by this outage. So, if you have been thinking about testing out NinjaTrader version 7, now would be a great time to do so.

              refresh button?

              I'm also using ZenFire data and had a huge gap in my data. I just got to wondering if Ninjatrader has a refresh button like Tradestation does. In TS, you just hit ctrl-R and that refreshes the data. Is there anything like that for Ninja?
              If not, what does one have to do to refresh data, log out and log back in?

                Thank you for your post.

                To refresh the chart, you will want to right click in the body of the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data'.

                  Well, I've downloaded the new version. It looks like I now have to create from scratch all my charts. Is that correct? It isn't showing any of the templates.

                    Hi shali27,

                    Yes, due to the changes between versions chart templates and charts contained in workspaces will need to be recreated.

                      You no longer have the Heikin-Ashi in the indicators. Where can I find that?

                        Heiken Ashi is now a bar option available in the Data Series menu.

                          Missing Chart Data

                          I was logged in using NT 6.5 this morning out in CA about 6:15 AM to about 9 AM. Then I decided to take the rest of the day off to tend to other duties. Doesn't it always go that way that you miss the great moves while you're gone. I wasn't home and in my van listening to the radio when the market went into freefall. When I got back and logged back in, all the data while I was gone is missing from the charts and is still missing. I'd like to get that filled in to study how it all played out chartwise. I have the Zen-Fire feed. Thanks.

                              Thanks, Kyle. So that will fill in all the data even 1 minute bars? Thanks.

                              BTW, on Tuesday I made $1,344,452 paper trading. I was hoping my broker would mistakenly think it was my real account. Everyone must be doing the math of how much they would have made shorting their account to the max this AM when the Dow was green for a few, and covered when it was down 1000. And doing that math my account would have increased 1000% during the day.
