    buying power

I wanted to setup my simulation account in order to have 10k$ cash and 100k$ buying power, how can I set it in such way?

Currently I have 10k$ and 20k$ buying power? why?
It doesn't seem to vary if I change margin values...

    Hi Marzullo,

    Thank you for your post.

The setting for the buying power is the margin. To increase the buying power you will want to increase the margin from .50 to .10.

        Hi,

I have working with this and it appears the buying power will always be in a 2:1 ratio. That does not mean however, that changing the margin will not have an effect for order submission.

What you will see in NinjaTrader for the Simulation Account:

        NinjaTrader Simulation Accounts
Values are all NinjaTrader calculated since its a simulation account
        Buying Power
        Cash Value
        Excess Equity
        Realized PnL

            Hi Marzullo,

Yes, this is expected. When you modify the margin in the simulated account settings you are not changing the absolute value of your buying power, but how that buying power is allocated.

So if you have smaller margin each contract you purchase will use less of your overall buying power.
