I noticed that when trading a strategy today the chart showed an entry early in the AM with a corresponding closing trade some time latter. However the trade was never executed. Could that have something to do with the minimum bar requirement in the startegy. The actual execution waits for the min bar requirement to be met but the chart trade indicator does not?

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

If you were seeing trade indications but there weren't any actual executions, then this is likely a hypothetical fill based on your strategies rules.

The Minimum Bars Required setting will apply for the whole history of the chart, and not the moment you start the strategy.

You will see hypothetical fills up until the moment you start the strategy, and then get actual executions thereafter.

I had started the strategy about 10 to 15 minutes before trading began and I was flat. The chart showed a short entry at 6:36 AM Pacific but it never executed. Subsewuent trades did?

I'm not sure what that might have happened in this case

Some tools for tracking strategy order issues:
TraceOrders = true;

You can then view output through Tools > Output window.
