Trouble connecting to IB

Here is the problem, PC was frozen up this morning and has to hard shut down the PC. Rebooted, and connected back to IB...IB asked for incoming connection, hit yes, and the bottom left of NT says "Connected - InteractiveBrokers"..BUT it is not highlighted in green. No account will pull up. I try to disconnect from IB and all fields are greyed out. I repaired DB and even restarted PC normal way and still a problem.

Something went corrupted. I can send in log files if you need them.

Thank you for your post.

Can you please remove the IB connection in NinjaTrader, then repair the database and recreate the connection.

• Please go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections--> highlight the connection--> click Remove
• Then go to the Tools menu--> select Options--> select the Misc tab--> click Repair DB
• Restart NinjaTrader
• Please go to the Tools menu--> select Account Connections and recreate the account connection.

Prior to reconnecting please make sure that IB TWS is closed so that NinjaTrader opens that application when it is connecting.

Can you please uninstall the TWS application then and then install the supported version from the following link.

Uninstalled TWS (which was the correct version anyways) and reinstalled via link. Same problem. Frustrating.

Can you please rename the database, as the repairing is likely not resolving the corrupted connection.

To rename the DB:

• Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
• Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> DB--> NinjaTrader.MDB.
• Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
• Name it "NewNinjaTrader.MDB."
• Then restart the software.

OK, I have had to do this before. So I already have a NewNinjaTrader and a NinjaTrader and NinjaTrader.Old. Do you want me to delete them both?

Do not delete the database files in that folder, but you will only have to rename the one that is presently called NinjaTrader.mdb.

Ok, before I do this....there is already a NewNinjaTrader currently in there (from a previous problem I had). If I rename it, will it override the current one or make 2 of them?

I would recommend giving the current database a name different than the other one, such as NinjaTraderold.mdb. That way there will be two previous databases, and a new one will be created when you open NinjaTrader.

I am so damn confused.

Which one do I rename?

1.) NewNinjaTrader
2.) NinjaTrader
3.) NinjaTrader.Old

I appreciate your help, just frustrated will all the problems and renaming and repairing DB all the time and losing all my strategies, etc.

Rename option number two, that presently is called NinjaTrader. Then reopen and try to connect to IB.

Yes, you can have NinjaTrader 7 while keeping NinjaTrader 6.5. The only exclusion is that they can not be opened at the same time.
