    Close button not working

Im on sim trading, but close button does not seem to work when im short. It just cancels the working orders and does not get me out. It seems that it works when im long, than it closes the position. Any idea why and what can i do?

    Hi bagzi,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you please close the SuperDOM and then repair your NinjaTrader database.

Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
    • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
    • Select the "Misc" tab
    • Press the "Repair DB" button
    • Press the "OK" button

Then please close NinjaTrader and reopen and recreate a SuperDOM. Also, please refer to the following link.

Here is somehting i just figured out and i would like if somebody can confirm. My strat has only set a stop loss, trailing but without a profit target. And when i hit the close button it cancels the order but does not close the actual position. Does it suppose to be this way or the close button should close the position and cancel all pending orders?

      thanks

        Hi bagzi,

The close button should result in all pending orders being canceled and all existing positions being closed on the account/instrument combination that is selected.

So that we may further investigate, please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

In the message, please include the following:
1.) A link to this forum thread.

2.) Your log file from the date this occurred:
You will find the log file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Log folder.
Today's log file would be named 'log.20100528.txt'

3.) Your trace file from the date this occurred:
You will find the trace file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace folder.
Today's log file would be named 'trace.20100528.txt'

4.) The time that this occurred.
