    Data Volume

I'm going to try an experiment out at my lake house next week. I'm going to tether a macbook to a droid phone and do some trading on the ES.

Does anyone know how much data that would stream over my wireless carrier connection?

I can't see it being too large, as it is real time and not terribly complicated data. (I assume)

The folders made from market data that I record from time to time only seem to be around a 100 mg or so.... Is that, perhaps, an indicator?

    as always, tia

Would you direct me to a list of supported connection methods??

Also, what is entailed by "not supported"?

        Hello,

My connection methods, do you mean connectivity providers?:

We do not support using NT with a handheld device.

Thank you for your time, Ben.

I was speaking of the actual internet connection itself, such as cable modem, etc.

I don't understand what you mean by not supporting. Does these mean you simply don't recommend any wireless broadband whatsoever?

Of course I won't be running NT on a phone. A computer will be tethered to it.

          Sorry for the confusion.

            Hello,

            Oh, I did misunderstand.

We support any internet connection. Of course the faster the better for your trade execution. You can use wireless and/or broadband, many do.

              Thank you again, Ben.

Referring to my original question, Do you have any idea of how much bandwidth a very basic ES session would consume?

I run two T&S columns, two one minute charts, (one with volume and one with Stochastics) , chart trader and static DOM. Very basic..

Surely, the data stream would be quite small compared to say, audio or video.

Do have any figures available? Like mb per minute or the like?

                Hello,

I am sorry, we don't have information on that. You may want to create a thread and ask your fellow traders or test it while looking at your task manager: control+alt+delete
