How long does it to load 30 Range Charts, 30 days of data

    How long does it to load 30 Range Charts, 30 days of data

    I'm currently connected to Barcharts.com.

    The thing is when i load a 30 range chart, with 30 days worth of data, it generally takes forever. It has never loaded. In addition, 4 range charts with 3 days of data also take at times 3 minutes.

    Can i just get a feedback if thats normal dude to the nature of loading it tick by tick?

    Thank you for your post.

    You will experience relatively long load times especially when loading tick-based charts.

    It is not recommended to load 30 days of historical data into a tick chart; e.g. Range Bars. For optimal performance a good rule is to only bring in the necessary amount of data to calculate your indicators & strategies.

    When pulling in the 4 Range Bar charts with 3 days, you may still experience some loading delays as well. This is normal for most as it will depend upon your internet bandwidth, contract(s) you are trying to plot, & the requests being made upon the data providers servers from other users.

      Thanks for your reply.

      Good to hear that its normal to expect delays.

      However, i'm still having problems with ES 09-10.

      Please take a look at my screen shot.

      I'm using barchart.com for datafeed.

      I'm getting a gap. dates on my 34 range charts indicate 5/28 and jumps to 6/28.

        Hello pehon,

        The error that you received “OutOfMemoryException” is normally associated with attempting to bring in too much historical data into the chart. You will want to decrease the amount of data you are requesting & see if that resolves this issue.

        Since you received this error, please also follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
        1. Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
        2. From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
        3. Select the "Misc" tab
        4. Press the "Repair DB" button
        5. Press the "OK" button

        Please let me know if this does not correct the issue.

          Yeah it doesn't fix the problem. Contacted Barchart.com they directed me back to you guys.

          Is there some thing i can put on my computer to collect data for you guys to debug?

            See the thing is i connected to esignal and i was able to load the 30 range chart 90 days worth, much faster than barchart, without that gap in the data.

              Hello pehon,

              You can send us your Log & Trace files for the effected dates & just include them as a normal attachment to your email. Send them to support AT ninjatrader DOT com. Please include this forum thread as a reference.

              You can find these in the (My) Documents folder at the file path:
              1. NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt
              2. NinjaTrader 6.5 > Log > log.YYYYMMDD.txt

              If you are using NinjaTrader 7 then just substitute 7 for 6.5 above.
