    IB account switching bug

    Hey,

    I have a full license with IB. I am currently testing functionality before going live - therefore, I am connecting to a simulated trading account on IB. However, my sim account has 3 different account numbers within it. I am currently routing all my orders to the same sim account, but when I establish the connection between IB and NT, NT takes control and automatically selects one account to view (in the portfolio tab in IB, you can select to view all accounts, or one specific account). However, NT doesn't select the right account and it doesn't let me change to the right one. If I select a different account in the drop down menu in IB, it automatically switches back to the one it was displaying beforehand.

    How can I change the account that I want to view/how can I change the default account NT connects to?

    Also, please note that It seems as though if I make a trade within a given account, then the view changes to that account. However, I don't want to have to make a random order just to change accounts....

    1.) Which version of NinjaTrader are you using? (Help > About)

    2.) Which version of TWS are you running? (Help > About Trader Workstation)

      We are using the latest versions in both cases: 7.19 for NT and the latest version for IB (I can't check while connected because NT closes the popup window right away) because I am launching it from the website.

        Hello pmorissette,

        When you get a chance, please restart TWS and let me know which specific version you're using.

            Please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

            In your message, please include the following:

            1.) A link to this forum thread.

            2.) Your most current trace file.
            You will find the trace file in the My Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
            Today's trace file would be named 'trace.20100729.txt'.

              same problem

              I'm having the same issue where ninjatrader selects a different account automatically in TWS, any resolution to this problem?

                Hi sma202,

                In our previous experience with this error, each case has been resolved once the NinjaTrader supported version of TWS was installed.

                Please check to see which build of TWS you are using by clicking Help > About Trader Workstation.

                If you are not using 906.8, please uninstall your existing version via the Windows Control Panel, then download and install TWS 906.8.

                  I'm using ninjatrader on windows but connecting to TWS on a mac build 910, do you have the 908 link for macs?

                      Well I found the 908.6 version but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. It still reverts to my 2nd account unless I disconnect the datafeed.

                        I'd suggest installing TWS directly to the Windows PC in that case.
