    Just a stupid Holiday Q

My daily charts have null candles where a holiday fell on a Sun and Monday was the holiday. If I edit the data, that date does not appear so I can't exclude it.

For instance, July 4 fell on a Sunday so July 5 displays a null candle, i.e., there is nothing there. If I hover over July 2 and gradually move over the candles, nothing changes until I get to July 6, but there is a hole/vacant spot where the July 5 candle should be.

How do I get rid of the blank space?

    Hello snaphook,

    Thank you for your post.

In order to assist you with this issue, please include more detail as to what you are experiencing; such as:
    • What version of NinjaTrader are you running? This can be found under Help > About…
    • What data provider are you trying to connect to?
    • Does this same event occur for other instruments/symbols?

Please also provide a screenshot of what you are seeing.

      NT_Chip,

      NT V7.0.0.19
      Connecting to TDAmeritrade
Seems to be restricted to Indexes

I also get these messages for each Index when I connect. Each time after a fresh restart of NT. The charts update fine, but the error always comes up and scares the crap out of me. Sounds like someone is shooting at me. I don't have a secondary Historical backup.

        Hello snapbook,

Please set up a connection to the Yahoo data feed, reload the chart & let me know if the issue persists.

        Here are the instructions:

Yes, the voids are still there. Here is what I have done.
          1. Added Yahoo! as backup historical data source for TDA and as a standalone DS
          2. Connected Yahoo! and Reloaded All Historical Data
          3. Made additional connection to TDA and reloaded.
          4. Closed chart and rebuilt anew with connection to TDA and Yahoo! already established.
          5. I have NOT deleted the Historical Data to try from a blank slate.

Here is Data Editor data for ^COMP. There is no entry for 7/5/2010, yet it shows as a blank candle.

            Possible problem

Same setup, TDA and Yahoo! connected in that order.

If I load IWM daily alone in a chart, all is well, but if I add TWM daily below it, I get blank candles for the weekends.

I loaded another chart with just ^COMP and the holidays are gone.

              Hi snaphook,

What you're seeing is expected when using multi-series charts. Since both instruments are using a common time axis, this type of a display is a consequence of keeping the data in sync.
