missing bars for ZS

    missing bars for ZS

    Can anyone explain why there are missing bars between 8:06 and 10:38 on the attached chart? I only count 10 bars over this time period, when there should be ~75 bars since its a 2 minute chart. I notice this with other time ranges as well on the chart. Is it because if no trades take place during a 2 minute segment, no bar is created?

    Thank you for your post.

    Unfortunately your chart did not get attached.

    Please answer the following questions so I may further assist:
    • What version of NinjaTrader do you currently have installed which can be found under Help-->About.
    • What data provider are you connecting to within NinjaTrader?
    • Are you showing as connected in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center?
    • Are you receiving data within the Orders tab of the Control Center?
    • Are there any error messages in the Log tab of the Control Center?
    • Does this gap show on all time intervals such as a 2 Minute chart?
    • When you right mouse click within your chart are you able to Reload historical data or is the option grayed out?
    • What expiry month are you attempting to load?

      Opps forgot the chart.
      NT 7.17
      Zen fire
      YEs connected
      yes, receiving data
      no errors
      yes, on other time frames such as 5 min.
      I can reload data, but same result.

        Please upgrade to NinjaTrader 7.0.0.19 at the link I have provided below:


        If the issue persists please use the steps I have provided below to delete your historical data:
        • Disconnect
        • Tools
        • Historical Data Manager
        • Edit tab
        • Select ZS-->Right mouse click-->Delete
        • Close NinjaTrader
        • Documents
        • NinjaTrader 7
        • Open the db folder
        • Open the cache folder
        • Select all files-->Right mouse click-->Delete
        • Open NinjaTrader
        • Connect
        • Open a new chart

        Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

          OK, thanks for the suggestions. I did all that and attached the chart for ZS. Some time periods are correct, other are not. I looks like the incorrect periods are outside of normal trading hours. Look at 14:10 to 19:25....only 6 bars on a 5 minute chart....should be 60 or more.

            Which Session Template is selected in that menu?

              Default 24/7
              Now look at the attached chart. its 10:06 am est and the bid and ask are at 1022 but the price on the chart is at 1034 which is correct. Only 3 5 minutes bars since 8:00.

                Hi Marshmellowhead,

                Please right click in your chart and reload historical data.

                If the missing data does not populate, please open the Historical Data Manager (Tools > Historical Data Manager), navigate to the edit tab and let me know whether or not the missing data is listed in this menu.

                  reloading historical data doesn't solve the issue. I've attached what is located in the data manager. No data between 8:11 and 10:30 listed for today although other sources of futures data shows bars within this timeframe.

                        In the message, please include the following:
                        1.) A link to this forum thread.

                        2.) Your most current trace file.
                        You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
                        Today's trace file would be named 'trace.20100806.txt'.
