How do you compile?

Hi
I upgraded to ninja version 6.5 1000.17 from 6.5 1000.16 and its telling me that my custom indicators need to be recompiled. Is that something i can do as a non-programmer?

Also, it wont let me import any indicators...says i have programming errors.

Hello jimbo002,

You will not be able to import if there are compile errors.

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from after compiling the indicator. This will allow you to debug the indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies- not just one.

• Open NinjaTrader
• From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator
• Select an indicator and double click on it.
• A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators.
• At the bottom of the window a new section will appear were you can find the error locations.
• From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.

Let us know the specific error message you're getting from within the compiler.

I need a reply to this post!! How can you just get crappy strategies off so you can start over after you have more knowledge?

Hello fenn_diane,

To remove the indicator/strategy follow the steps below.

* In the Control Center -> Tools -> Edit NinjaScript -> Indicators/Strategies
* Select the Indicators/Strategies that you want to remove by left clicking on it.
* Press the Delete button at the bottom

If you do not see them in there they may be a NinjaScript Assembly. To remove a NinjaScript Assembly:

* In the Control Center -> File -> Utilities -> Remove NinjaScript Assembly
* Select the NinjaScript Assembly file by left clicking on it.
* Press the Remove button
