    PL in chart

    Hello,

    I have some issues with the chart trader as PL is totally different between indicated directly in the chart and the PL in chart trader itself.

    The PL in the chart is shown immediately when entering a position and does not change itīs value all the time. In the charttrader the PL is shown correctly. For your information this happens with external datafeed. But this is not an issue with datafeed because in charttrader itīs OK.

    Thank you for your post.

    Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
    • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
    • Select the "Misc" tab
    • Press the "Repair DB" button
    • Press the "OK" button

    Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

      Thank you for your reply.

      I do repair DB sometimes. Referring to your advice I have done now too. I took an entry then and same issue. This occurs not with Gain but with External datafeed. To remember - the PL in Charttrader is correct, so no issue from "outside".

        To clarify this only occurs when you connect to the External Data Feed such as TradeStation data correct.

            Hello NinjaTrader Customer Service,

            did you got any answer on this issue with wrong PL in chart?

            If not - how can I disable it because itīs always visible and itīs misleading. How can I remove the wrong number? (Or maybe you can solve this issue?)

              Please rename your database. With this procedure you will be required to recreate any ATM Strategies you may have saved at this time.

              To rename the DB:
              • Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
              • Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> DB--> NinjaTrader.MDB.
              • Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
              • Name it "OldNinjaTrader.MDB."
              • Then restart the software.

              Please let me know if the issue persists after this procedure.

                Thank you for your reply.

                But this seems to be some standard reply.

                I described the problem where appears correct PL and where there appear wrong PL.

                And YES, after doing rename in the folder (I had already done before) the issue persists with external datafeed. With EURJPY there is not only the wrong PL in chart which is different from chart trader, there still is the strange amount in the PL in chart that seems to be 10 times higher.

                Same situation for both issues as I have sent to you with screenshots.

                    thank you for your reply. I have this issue with my actual data-provider who is not on your list and I had this also before with another one (mentioned on your website) during my demo with the API of the one.

                    As trading works fine with that Datafeed now and also in chart trader it is correctly it can not be important who is the dataprovider, I donīt want to bring the discussion to an issue if dataprovider is on the list or not. The programmer has analyzed the issue and as it works in chart trader and we have correct trading entries, stops and exits how could the datafeed provider be the reason.

                    So, if this can not be solved on your end then please tell me how the indicated PL in chart can be removed to avoid misleading impression during trading. Thank you.

                      Unfortunately there is not an option within NinjaTrader to disable or hide the PnL within Chart Trader or the SuperDOM.

                          Can you please tell me what data source you are using when connecting to the External Data Feed when this occurs. Also what version of NinjaTrader do you currently have installed which can be found under Help-->About.

                            Hi,

                            itīs not important what datafeed it is because chart trader and fxpro show correct PL. Only in chart there is wrong PL all the time. Donīt let bring up the discussion to the datafeed with the end "itīs the datafeed" LOL

                            How can datafeed be "wrong" when chart-trader and fxpro are working correctly?

                              Send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris" in the subject line.
                              In the message, please include the following:

                              1.) A link to this forum thread.
                              2.) Your most current trace and log files.

                              You will find the file here: My Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace > trace.YYYYMMDD.txt

                              Log file will be located by going to Documents->NinjaTrader 6.5->Log->log.YYYYMMDD.txt
