IB User using IB feed: Which time server do you sync to?

I am trying very hard to find a server that match IB time servers or other broker's time server. However, I am unable to find one. The one I use is tick.usno.navy.mil and it is faster by about 1.5 seconds. Since I use time chart, this 1.5 seconds make chart out of sync. As a discretionary trader, this is could be a good/bad entry/exit.

For the ib users using ib feed, which time server do you synchronize your computer too?

    To Ninjatrader:

Is there a reason why IB feed is not timestamp while Zenfire one is?

    Hi cw30000,

The reason why different data providers time-stamp data, and others do not is related to the individual technical specifications of the feed.

As for why they choose in some instances to stamp the data locally vs. the exchange may have to do with the method that the data is provided. Zen-Fire streams unfiltered tick data, whereas IB sends out updates every quarter of a second. This difference would likely account for why one is time-stamped and the other is not.

      Ryan,

      Thanks for clarification.

Do you know if TT feed timestamp their feed?

        Hi cw30000,

TT uses the local clock to time-stamp the data, and it is not stamped with the exchange time, same as IB.
