Stop Limit Offset for NT-placed Exits

How can I change the Stop Limit Offset that NT uses when it places a strategy-based Stop order for Futures?

For example, using a simple exit strategy such as ProfitTarget=12 (ticks), StopLoss=6 (ticks), if I make a long entry NT places a Limit order 12 ticks above my EntryPrice, and a StopLimit order 6 ticks below, as expected. Problem is, the Limit part of the Stop order is always set by NT at 5 *dollars* against me, which is a huge amount if trading leveraged futures such as ES or NQ.

Unfortunately (for me at least) the losses only occur when trading live.

Additional info: this occurs with NT6.5 and NT7, using IB as broker.

Thank you for your post.

This feature of stop-loss stop-limit orders is coded in NinjaTrader and can not be modified. The reason it is so large is to guarantee that the stop-loss order is filled if a trade goes against you. There is the possibility of slippage due to the large limit, but it should fill near the stop price. Please see the following link for more information.

You can also right click in the order entry window and select Properties. In the Properties window you can change the Use Stop Market orders for Stop Loss to True, but slippage will still be a factor with stop-market orders.
