    Position.Quantity

    I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I can't seem to find the answer in the help guide and searching the forum for this has not been helpful. Is Position.Quantity an absolute value or a relative value? In other words if I am short two contracts is that a Position.Quantity of 2 or -2 ?
    Thanks

    Position.Quantity

    The definition for Position.Quantity is that it is an integer value so by definition it would have to be absolute, because an integer can't take on a negative value. So if I am long two contracts or short two contracts, the Position.Quantity will be 2 for both cases.
    Is this correct?

      Hello,

      This is correct. Heres how I tested this to find out.

      I created a strategy that entered a short position or made a copy of SampleMACrossOver strategy and then added this print statement to check its values:

      EnterShort();
      Print("QTY: " + Position.Quantity);

      In the output window QTY displays as when I'm short:
      QTY: 1

      Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
