    I can´t visualize historical data

    Hi,

I have imported with NT7 historical data of the ES from 2001 to 06/2010.

I have imported it with this file name: ES 09-10, . I have the instrument in the intrument manager the same name as imported. I have the historical data correctly imported as I see the data in the historical data manager. But, i can´t visualize it in a chart.
    Nothing appears in a achart

Any clue where is the problem?

    Hello CJS,

You should make sure the date range of the chart matches the range of data. You'll also have to make sure the interval you're viewing on the chart can be used for the type of data you imported.

Base Data used to Build Bars
A chart bar (interval type) requires a base data value as its source for bar construction. Following are NinjaTrader supported interval types and their required base data values.

    Tick - tick data
    Volume - tick data
    Range - tick data
    Second - tick data
    Minute - minute bar data
    Day - daily bar data
    Week - daily bar data
    Month - daily bar data
    Year - daily bar data

I have set correctly all what you mention.

The problem must be some other place.

I see the data in the historical data manager.
When open a chart I select from the correct instrument the min type (as it is minuta data), I select value 30.
I set 50 days to load, and End Date 30/05/2010 ( I have imported until 15/06/2010)

      Any other idea?

I'm not sure why you aren't seeing it. I'd check to make sure you are not attempting to reload data over the top of it - from your connectivity provider.

If you can include a file with some of this data, I can take a look on my end and compare.

          1 last question.

If I am conected to GAIN (only forex provider) , Is there a problem if I want to see an ES chart?

Since I have the ES historical imported, I guess the conexion does not matter. But just to be sure that conetion is not causing the problem.

          Thanks

            Hello CJS,

That shouldn't interfere here, as long as the data is imported successfully to master instrument ES. Gain doesn't offer futures data, so Ninjatrader wouldn't attempt to download.

              Well,

I have tried everything and I still do not visualize the data.

The weird thing is that I visualize it perfectly in NT6.5.

The name of the file is: ES 09-10. The data starts ay 02/01/1998 to 17/06/2010. I guess the name of the file must contain tha last contract it contains (in thisd case june)

Here it is a small sample of the data, but I know the the data is perfect.

Works OK here. I had to change session template from Instrument settings to Default 24 / 7 to view this overnight data.

I suggest deleting and trying again, maybe with a smaller section until you can verify it's working correctly.

If you're still having issues, take a screenshot of your Right Click > Data Series screen and this will hopefully offer clues.

                  Thanks,

                  I´ll do that.

I have created a new symbol in the Instrument Manager, I edited it with the correct settings and now the chart is plotting (with the new name). It seems like the problen is in the "name" of the file.
