    Alt+F4 closes charts...NT7

    I was so accustomed to using the F-Keys for chart markers in 6.5...now every time I go for my down arrow or diamond marker, I end up closing my chart...any user control for this, or a way to disable Alt+F4...?

    Hi tworth,

    Thank you for your post.

    What you can do with NinjaTrader 7 is define your Chart shortcuts using the Hot Key Manager. Please see the following link for more information.

    However, I would advise against assigning Alt+F4 any function since that is a Windows based shortcut for closing any active window. It may be possible to disable that feature but that would need to be done on the OS level.

      How to disable Alt-F4 so it does not close Charts

      Although this thread is quite old, I'll answer because I had recently the same problem. Sometimes after working analysing a chart for a long time I miss the ALT-F3 key and press ALT-F4... and all my work is GONE

      I found a solution that works for me. Install free AutoHotKey software and add this code to its basic script:
      Code:
      !F4::return ; disable 'alt-f4'
      This works like a charm :-), and you can enable/disable AutoHotKey from the status bar.

      Hope that helps!
      D.
