    Stopp Loss Order Questions

    Dear NT Support Team,

    - is a Stop Loss Order triggered either through the chart or through an ATM strategy parameter a real working order submitted immediately to the market?

    - is this order affected in whatever way by a PC system breakdown or a lost connection?

    Thank you

brima, yes, if the you choose not to use a simulated order type which would only be submitted once triggered - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...verview12.html

If the order is affected by loss of connectivity can be seen here, as it also depend on the brokerage technology used - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ead.php?t=5349

      Thank you so far.

But I monitored a difference in stop loss order handling on my Sim101 account.

In my SIM101 account Stop Loss Orders applied in the chart do not trigger until the breaked down computer is restarted again. I can see this as the filled price is exactly the current price, not the price of the Stop Loss Order.

Can you confirm that difference between the Sim account and a real account?

Are you using StopMarket or StopLimit orders for your stop losses?

StopMarket stoploss order become a market order once triggered, so you may see some slippage happening.

What I am talking about is not slippage.

Let me give an example: Computer breakdown - then one hour later computer and NT restart. Now the Stop Loss order is triggered and this may be far away from my stop loss price given in the chart. If this was a stop loss lying in the market, it would have long been executed - no matter if my computer is running or not. Do I get the right idea???

NinjaTrader has to be running live and connected to manage your stops, this is true for all trading on the Sim101. If you use a live account connection offering native OCO's the stop would be resting on the brokers servers thus executing anyways if your connection or PC crashed.

Okay, now I've got it - thank you for the clarification.
