    Missing zenfire data

    Support,

I am using NT 6.5.1000.18 with zenfire. I noticed recently zenfire data has been missing. I noticed there are gaps in data and sometimes zenfire gets disconnected and gets connected by itself. I didn't even notice the disconnect for the short time. And when the data is reloaded,it still has some missing data.

For example on a 1 minute ES chart, following data is missing:

12:04 am EST minute bar on 10/20/10
9:40 am est minue bar on 10/21/10

How reliable is zenfire historical minutes data on ninja servers? Is zenfire datafeed becoming less and less reliable lately?

    Thanks

    Hello mmtrader,

I tested the data on my end, however I do display minute bars at these time stamps. Please note that my PC clock is set to US Mountain time, so I checked the minute bars 2 hours before the times you listed.

Can you please right click in the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data' and check if the missing data is loaded.

In addition, please note that NinjaTrader does not dictate when a connection is lost. It operates like a radio receiver in that it receives a signal from your broker and then displays/reports these signals back to you the trader. When a connection is lost, it is the broker's API that determines this and reports this to NinjaTrader which in turn reports this back to the trader.

The common problems that contribute to this are:

    - ISP issues
    - hardware firewall issues changing IP addresses frequently
    - Dynamic ISP address switching the address frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, a static IP address may work.
    - With Windows XP SP2, if you have more than 10 open TCPIP socket connections open (10 programs making connections through the internet) windows will randomly shut down some connections
    - Broker servers having problems
    - Software, such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software, that could be interfering the connection
