    problem getting historical data!

    Hello, I'm using PFG simulation and i'm unable to get historical data on the chart. When I open a CL(crude oil) chart...all I got is a single candle and nothing before that. I've been having lots of this problem. What to do?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your forum post.

    Is this a demo PFG account or a live PFG account? If its a demo I believe that historical data is only availiable for forex instruments I believe.

    Are you able to het historical data for other instruments? If so which ones for example?

      thanks for the reply. yes im using PFG demo and i'm trading crude oil which works but lots of times I get this message: "Error on loading chart data for 'CL 12-10 Nymex': the provider could not determine the Object value. For example, the row was just created, the default for the Object value was not available, and the consumer had not yet set a new Object value.".

        In This case with this error message.

        Follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
        • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
        • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
        • Select the "Misc" tab
        • Press the "Repair DB" button
        • Press the "OK" button
        Restart NinjaTrader and let me know if you're able to get up and running after following those steps.

          I've tried this and still doesn't work

            Can you let us know what version you're using, V6.5.1000.18 or V7 Beta 23 (RC1)? You can check under Help--> About.

                Hello,

                Very strange most of the time this will repair the issue. In this case please rename the database if we are getting the same error. This will cause a new database to be generated.

                This process will delete your saved ATM Strategies, Trade History and saved historical data.
                Can you please rename the NinjaTrader database. To rename the DB:
                • Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
                • Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> DB--> NinjaTrader.MDB.
                • Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
                • Name it "NewNinjaTrader.MDB."
                • Then restart the software.


                If this does not resolve the issue please send your phone number to support at ninjatrader dot com and reference this forum post and put ATTN: Brett in the subject line.

                  I've done what you suggested but in the DB list I have: data, export, import, and ninjatrader not ninjatrader.MDB

                    Hello,

                    The file is just NinjaTrader in this case, you have file extensions turned off in windows xp.

                    Please rename the NinjaTrader file in this folder.

                      so rename it to ninjatrader.MDB? Also, when I start up the platform I get this message: "Failed to move executions log file: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

                            In order to investigate, we will need you to send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com.

                            In the message, include the following:

                            1.) A link to this forum thread.

                            2.) Your most current trace file.
                            You'll find that file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace folder.
                            Today's trace file would be named 'trace.20101104.txt'.
