Error Meta Data <file.dll> could not be found

I get the error on trying to import ninjascript, Using NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.18 (Live)
Have done according to forum advise to edit an indicator and Press F5
to highlight ninjascript errors

The error points to the files where they donot exist anymore on my Drive and Path

How do I stop ninja looking for this meta data files and path when it doesnot exist anymore on my PC

Could someone please advise a remedy

Hi minoo,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forum.

Please go to Tools-->Edit NinjaScript-->Indicators. Please double click any indicator and to open the programming window.

Then please right click and select References.

In the ensuing window please highlight the following references and then hit the Delete button:
E:\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\NinjaTrader.core.dll
E:\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\WilsonORMapper.dll

Then once you have removed those references please right click and and select References again, and then add those references back in.

You will want to add both the NinjaTrader.Core.dll and WilsonORMapper.dll file which you can add by navigating to their location in the E:\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin folder.

Then please re-compile the indicators.

But I am unable to do as you suggest, Sorry I may not have explained consecutive occurances of the errors properly

When I try to import NinjaScript I get the
First Error:
"You have custom Ninjascript file on your PC that have programming errors . .. . "

Please see the attached file
I search on the forum for help and I did accordingly: to edit any indicator and press F5

I get the Second Error of meta data <files.dll? could not be found
These files on my E:\Ninja... dirve and path does not exist any more on my PC.

Some time back I must have installed NinjaTrader on E:\
I have gone to my PC registry and found some references to E:\Ninja....
and have deleted those. But I still get both the Errors

Hi minoo,

If those files are not present then you will want to uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader. This process is not a complete uninstall and so your user settings should be retained and the files for references should be installed, as well.

Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:

1. Close all running applications.
2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 6.5 and click Remove.
4. Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
5. Reboot your machine.
6. Once these steps are completed, download NT6.5 from the link below:
   Download

Please let us know if you are able to get up and running after the reinstall.

PFGAPI the culprit

I did as advised and everything works on fresh install of NinjaTrader but as soon as I load the PFG-API for live connection to their servers; NinjaScript environment gets disrupt and than not possible to import any indicators, etc

Even if you unload PFGAPI it doesnot help; To reset I had to uninstall everything and reinstall NinjaTrader fresh.

Workaround was, fresh install of Ninja than load the indicators than only load the PFGAPI in the end for live connection, Custom indicator Workspace and Connection works.

Please test the PFGAPI for NT6.5 test and confirm.
Could you kindly advise or update us of progress

The PFG API should not affect NinjaScript but can you please clarify the NinjaScript errors you receive upon installing the PFG API, and what indicators would not import after the PFG API was installed.

No Errors after ReInstallation

First I cleared up all indication of ninjatrader in Registry other than the default drive and path. (Ninja was initially loaded to my E:\ and Registry had some redundant entries)

Secondly, I have now re-install .NET Framework 1 & 2 with servicepack, Than re-installed NinjaTrader 6.5 and Than the PFGAPI.

Since I have cleaned the registry and reinstalled the above, I have not been able to recreate the previous errors I posted to the forum while importing NinjaScript.

DCOM Server Process Launcher

Hi Ryan

My PC had problem Connecting in the AM today, refer attachment
I checked in my event log and found DCOM service error

I manually kicked start The above DCOM Server Process and was instantly able to login to PFG Live. I have set this service to run automatically.
