    Strategy stopped after order in NT 6.5

    Hallo,

    I am still using NT 6.5, I just started a new strategy in a new market for me (mini MIBTEL 30 in Italy) and after the first exit order (which was executed properly), the strategy stopped itself.

    In the log file, I found the following line:
    08/12/2010 13:30:04|1|64|Instrument='MINIMIB30 12-10' Account='XXXXXX' Avg price=0 Quantity=0 Market position=Long Operation=Remove Currency=Euro

    Is the "Operation=Remove" part responsible for this behavior?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your forum post.

    This is actually a normal and good line in the log file. This is simply removing the position display off the superDOM and Chart Trader for example.

    You should see something more along the lines of an Error.

    Please post your logs if you would like me to take a look.

      After the execution, the system stopped working. (there was no line showing the end of trade, and it did not react to a new entry order. After manual restart. it showed the closed trade line and I had to enter manually)

      Any help is welcome.

        Hello,

        Please attach the entire log file as an attachment. This information here shows that the strategy is still running there is no information here to the contrary. I would need to see the whole file.

          Ok, here it goes

          The only strategy not working is the mini MIBTEL

            Please check to make sure you are recieving data for the instrument MiniMib30, also I would suggest trying a restart on NinjaTrader as well.

            Also, your average price looks wrong on this custom instrument;

            Avg price=1,79769313486232E+308

            Can you please insure you have the instrument setup correctly.

              Hallo Bret,

              I had to setup this instrument manually, since it is not in the list that comes with NT. I think everything is setup correctly and probably something is missing if I need to manually restart the strategy every-time it takes a trade. The same used to happen with the QM, so I stopped trading QM.

              Maybe someone out there is trading this mini MIBTEL market with IB and can help me out?

                Hello,

                Is there any reason why your not using NinjaTrader 7 by the way?

                Also, at this point I'm going to recommend a complete uninstall and reinstall of NinjaTrader 6.5 if you cannot switch over to 7.

                1.) Backup:
                Please create a backup of your settings using the steps listed at the following link: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...ABackupArchive

                You will also need to save a copy of your license key. You will find the key listed in the Help > License Key menu.

                2.) Reinstallation:
                After backing up, please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
                1. Close all running applications.
                2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
                3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 6.5 and click Remove.
                4. Then manually delete the folder "NinjaTrader 6.5" located under Start --> My Documents.
                5. Reboot your machine.
                6. Once these steps are completed, download NT6.5 from the link below:

                3.) Testing(Very Important as in some cases restoring the backup could restore the settings/corruption and cause the issue to crop up agian.)
                After reinstalling NinjaTrader, please test and see if the issue persists.

                4.) Restoring Settings:
                If the issue does not persist on the clean installation, please restore your settings using the steps listed here:


                After restoring your settings, please test again and let me know if the issue pops up.
