NT7 on VMWare Virtualized Servers
any performance related issues affecting NT7 if we run it on Virtualized Servers?Tags: None

Hello Oil_Trader,
Performance should be closely related to the "specs" offered by the virtual machine. The higher the amount of RAM and processor speed allotted to the instance will give better performance.
You can use this with NinjaTrader but it's not officially supported. If you run into issues specific to this type of configuration we will be unable to resolve. Searching this forum should be your first step to see what other users have done in this area.Ryan M.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Im running it now on a dedicated Win Server 2K8 with 4 x Xeon 3Ghz processors and 4GB of RAM. It seems to be only consuming <1Gb of RAM and 20% processor capacity.
Would it be better to just run multiple instances of NT7 on separate Virtual OS than having all the strategies run simultaneously in 1 instance?

Hey Oil_Trader,
Server Time vs. Wall Clock is the biggest issue I've faced using virtual machines. Depending on your host software there are different ways to address it, usually either syncing to the host (and ensure the host is updated regularly via NTP or Win32Time) or syncing direct to Win32Time/NTP from the client. Hope that helps.
