Missing data in time charts....still

    Missing data in time charts....still

    NT 7...latest release.

    Infrequently, for reasons I can never track down, my time charts will have 'gaps' in them where candles/data should be but isn't. These 'gaps' tend to occur somewhere between 5pm and midnight. They happen infrequently but are very aggravating when they do occur.
    I recently added Kinetick along with Zenfire.....and twice I've had the same problem...which now makes me wonder if this is a Ninja issue and not a data feed issue.

    Most recent problem.....
    - CME 6E (Euro currency future ... 03-11 contract)
    - No data at all on 5-15 minute charts for 12/26..
    - "Session Template" does include the time frame for the missing data.
    - "End Date" is current ...(12/27/2010).
    - There are no error messages in the logs
    - '5 range' chart shows data for that time period....time charts do not.

    I tried to force a 'reset' by shutting down Ninja, and then going to
    Documents>NinjaTrader7>db>cache and deleted the contents

    restarted Ninja....still no data.


    P.S. Hope Ninja Support had a wonderful Christmas....sorry to badger you with this
    If there is something else I should be doing....let me know.

    Hello,

    What connection order do you use, do you connect to kinetick first or Zenfire first in the mornings.

    Also, if you are in this state, could you please take a screenshot and post the screenshot of the missing data.

    To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

      I've done it both ways...with both dta feeds.

      My trading machine is isolated...(I don't connect to the Internet on it except to Globex....but I'll grab a screenshot and forward it on.

              The session template mirrors the daily electronic trading..... 5pm to 4pm...
              Sunday 5pm - Monday 4pm
              Monday 5pm -Tuesday 4pm
              etc.

              US Central Standard Time zone....

              NOTE: I've also had this same issue using the "Default 24/7" and "Default 24/5"

                Please try again/verify with Default 24/7 as I'm not seeing the issue on my side with default 24/7. Default 25/5 would have the issue since the day it was open was only from sunday evening on which would be the weekend.

                  Done..... (see attached screen shots)
                  I created a brand new chart, no template, Default 24/7......
                  Still missing data.....


                  For what it's worth....this issue has cropped up several times over the last several months.
                  I have 4 trading partners and we have all experienced this problem, often together ... BUT not always on the same day.
                  Today for example, the only other guy online did not have the problem but I did.
                  Before Christmas, he had the problem, but I did not.

                  I originally thought it might be data feed....but I've gotten this with Zenfire
                  and with Kinetick....both alone and/or together.

                  .....Hope the fix is simply a setting that needs to be adjusted

                    Hello,

                    Can you please goto Control Center->Tools->Historical Data Manager and goto the Edit tab and goto the 6E 03-11 and Minute data. Is the data for the missing time gap there or not?

                    Then close out of that and then right click on the chart and select reload historical data does the issue resolve?

                        ....I just did a "download" only using Kinetick data feed...
                        (see attached screen grab)
                        and the data showed up on a 5 min chart....


                        Hmmmm.....
                        - So what do we think kept the data from showing up when I started the charts today?
                        - ....and, does this mean I have to do "reloads" to ensure I have all the data?

                          Hello,

                          Ok thanks for that information. I got further clarification from development.

                          This is expected. In a rare case that you have some cache built up but not all the cache you will miss data from previous days as only todays date is reloaded from the data feed service.

                          If you have a period of time past todays date that needs to be relaoded you must right click on the chart and select reload historical data to bring this historical data in.

                            Thanks for the response.....(I truly appreciate the assistance on reloading the missing info)

                            Let me re-phrase to see if I have this straight. If Ninja decides not to cache all the data, then I need to go to Control Center and "reload" historical data.

                            .... I still don't quite understand why most days it works fine, and loads prior day's data, but on occasion decides not to. In all occasions, I did not have Ninja running during the time period in question.....so I'm not sure how Ninja decides what day's it will reload cache and what days it won't.

                              Hi photog53,

                              That's correct - if for any reason historical data does not load, the first step would be to try reloading that data manually as you describe.
