    NQ continous contract chart

    Hi Support,

Can you please tell me how I can see a NQ continuous contract, say like a weekly chart or monthly for last 5 years? I am using IBfeed.

    Thanks
    RK

    Hello RK,

You can view continuous contract data for the NQ by merging the contracts. Please refer to the link below on how to merge contracts in our software.

      Thanks Chris.

I think merge might work for last few contracts like Sept and Dec-07 and not for last 5 years. I am with Ninja since like July.

I am not looking for minute data and intraday data, I am looking for like a five year weekly chart. Does merge work on weekly chart, for five years with IBfeed?

Any other alternate simple way to get 5 years of weekly charts.

      Thanks
      RK

        Hello RK,

Yes, that is correct in that you will only be able to merge a few contracts.

We do also have an import feature that will allow you import historical data from another source. Please take a look at the link below for additional information.

          Hi Chris,

Do you know how I can load NQ cash index in Ninja using IBfeed. What is the symbol in Instrument manager?

May be it would be simpler to see the index yearly chart.

          Thanks
          RK

              Hi Ray,

Is it possible to plot the last few years chart (weekly chart) of NQ continous contract with zenfire datafeed. Do you know if zenfire supports continous contract. If yes, can you please let me know how to set it up for NQ continous contract 5 years weekly chart

              Thanks
              RK

                Hi RK:

Zenfire does not support historical daily data, only minute data. Zen-Fire does not support a continuous contract either. You can merge a previous contract's data with the current to build your own continuous contract.

Does anybody know how many contracts back you can go with Zen-Fire if you try to load historical data from them?

With Mirus Futures, I can see YM 09-07, YM 12-07, YM 03-08, YM 06-08 and the current one. The same for ES.

I think is about one year data.

                          Hello vrumchev,

NinjaTrader comes pre-loaded with the most commonly traded instruments however, you may find the need to add an additional instrument. Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument in the Instrument Manager.
                          • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
                          • Press the "New" button
                          • *Enter in instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange)
                          • Fill in any relevant information under the "Misc" tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivty provider
                          • Press the "OK" button
                          * If you wish to add an equity, this can be accomplished without following the steps above. Just open a chart (for example) and start typing in the symbol and a new instrument is automatically created.

The instrument is now added to the master instrument list. Please follow the instructions below if you want to add this instrument to an instrument list.
                          • Select the instrument list you wish to add the instrument to via the "Instrument lists" drop down list in the upper left hand corner
                          • Select the exchange (Default recommend for equities) as this will route orders to your broker smart routing system
                          • Select the appropriate expiration date if this is a futures instrument
                          • Press the "<" button to add the instrument to the list
You are now complete and can press the "OK" button.
