Yes, you can create a column alert for an SMA indicator based of a "Cross Above" or "Cross Below" condition.

I don't see how this would work. Could you explain further?

To create an alert of price crossing an MA, you would have to be able to use the results of another column (e.g., last price) in the Value of the trigger of the SMA alert condition. Is there a way to to this?

Hi jmjstrider,

You would not be able to use the value of another column currently. The cross above or cross below value will only apply to the SMA indicator.

This means that the SMA cross above or cross below value would only trigger once the condition was met for a predetermined price. If you would like like to create an alert for when the SMA crosses above or below the current last price, this would be possible using custom programming.
