    Unexpected New Years present (likely bug)

    Hi,

    Just tried to start a strategy in replay mode (tried live too even though obviously the market is closed) and no matter what I do I get an error "From date must be smaller than To date".

    This is even on a strategy that is just enums (it doesn't do anything) and the sample strategies also.

    I am guessing it is a little unexpected New Year's day present. Any suggestions?

    Scott, could you please post a screenshot of how you've got the chart / strategies setup so I can give it a test here? Tried a replay of Friday's ES here without issues so far.

      Bertrand, Wow, support on New Year's day. I am not certain how to post a screen capture via the forum, I have only sent them directly to support.

          date need to be smaller...

          Hi,

          I'm having the same problem. Please see the attached screenshot.

          I cannot add new strategy anymore to the Strategy tab on the main Control Center application. This may be related to the day Jan 1st 2011 of the year bug?

            That is exactly what I am getting. I sent my screenshots directly to support because I don't know how to attach them to a forum post.

                Would you also see it when attempting to create a regular chart and then adding the strategy there?

                  Bertrand,

                  That actually works, it is just when adding the strategy via the Strategies tab. I hadn't thought to try that.

                    I'm getting something like this with backtesting. The from field is populated with today's date.

                    The data series value , the session template, and the keep # of results fields are all set back to default.

                    It happens on some strats and not others. There doesn't seem to be a pattern.

                      Thanks goldfly, I can't seem to reproduce the original report as of today - what settings / market do you use in backtesting where it would show? Same on the SampleMACrossover for example?

                        Hiya,

                        Yah, I can't make it happen either. Pretty strange. Must be the y2k11 bug.

                        Bet if you set the date back it would recur. I'll leave that to you

                          Another experience

                          Here's a wrinkle on this one. I have a development machine and live trading machine. The live machine (an XP system) is having the error. My Windows 7 development box is not having the error.

                          I'll run for day of live data test on the development box, but I would really like to get this fixed so I can use my development machine as intended.

                            daqu40, is this still reproducible now for you? There were some scheduled updates to .NET taking place, are those added to both of your machines? I would unfortunately not have an XP machine to test here right now, but will see what we can do here.

                              It seems to have cleared up. Must have been just around the 1st.

                              I don't think the .Net updates have hit the XP machine yet, but I do recall installing them on my Win7 machine. That might explain it. I'll check again tonight and update the thread
