    Drawings disappear when zooming in

This is still happening in 7.0.1000.1

    Hello tommyjames,

Are you referring to actually zooming using the Zoom tool, or to changing the compression rate of the chart using ALT + Up or Down arrow?

        tommyjames,

        Thanks for the clarification.

By using this hot key, you're changing the axis. If the axis is changed to the point where an anchor point of the drawing object is off of the chart, the behavior you mention is as expected.

I'm not changing the axis, I am changing the bar spacing.

            Hello tommyjames,

Using Ctrl + arrow up/down keys will (de)compress the X-axis. Alt + arrow up/down keys will change bar spacing.

Could it be the drawing objects are not displayed in the chart anymore due to compression of the X-axis as Kyle mentions? The X-axis is compressed so it does not display the X-axis values for the drawing object, so it is not displayed in the chart either.

I'm not sure it understand completely what you are saying. So right now I have a chart up with the rectangle drawing tool applied a few times. As I am hitting Ctrl Up/Down some (not all) of the rectangles disappear and then reappear. If you would like to remote desktop into my pc, let me know.

                tommyjames,

Are those which disappear closer to the axis? If so, it's likely that their anchor points are dropping off the chart as Jason described

                    tommyjames,

More along the lines of out of the display area in the chart - if even one anchor point is out of the visual range in the chart, the object won't be displayed.

That's not the behavior that is occurring.

                        tommyjames,

Would it be possible for you to provide me with a video of your monitor showing this behavior? Based on the steps you've provided which result in the axis being modified, this is the only way I've been able to reproduce the behavior.

If you don't have software for this, the free software Jing works quite well: http://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/

Notice how only certain drawings disappear and the ones that don't are more off the screen then the ones that do. So if it should behave the way you are talking about most of the drawings would disappear.

                            tommyjames,

Not sure that I follow - was there supposed to have been an attachment in your last message? If so, can you reply to the email thread we have going on the other issue with that image so I can take a look?

yeah, the forum only allows you to attach a file less then 1mb

I am trying to reduce the size
