    Changing Timeframe destroys Template

This is a new bug that I discovered today.

I have setup a daily chart with two DataSeries (ZN 3-11 and ZB 3-11), chart style "Line On Close" for both of them.

If I change the timeframe from "Daily" to "15 min", the chart style Line On Close is converted to "CandleStick". So basically my chart template is gone.

    See charts attached.

    Hello Harry,

    Thank you for your post.

Have you tried setting this line on close’ chart template as your default chart template?

      This is a bug

This will never be my default chart template.

Could you please reproduce as follows:

      (1) Load a default 15 min chart for ZN. Template = none.
      (2) Add a second dataseries 15 min for ZB.
      (3) Set both dataseries to ChartStyle Line on Close.

      The result is Chart 1.

      (4) Toggle chart to "5 min".

      The result is Chart 2.

      (5) Toggle chart to "Daily".

The result is Chart 3. Why does the chart change the ChartStyle, if I simply change the period from minutes to daily?

      This is clearly a bug.

I think it is just a little bug. If Development is taking care of it, that's fine.

            Harry,

Do you have any chart series defaults defined? You can see if you have these in Documents\NinjaTrader 7\templates\ChartSeries. Thanks.

Yes, I have indeed set chart series defaults. I have checked into this.

Because I am using charts with dark backgrounds, I have set my candle outline and candle wick colors to Gold. Black outlines are invisible in front of a black background.

Now, I have not set the default for chart style to Candlestick. It seems that NinjaTrader, when setting the colors by rightclicking next to the candle outline colors also sets the chart style as default. So my chartstyle for both min and daily charts was set to CandleStick and I was unaware of this.

              This probably explains the behaviour.
