Chart mess up after roll over to CL 03-11

After I rolled over from Feb to March, the chart is mess up. First I thought the spike was from news, and then I closed NT and then reopened hours later and noticed the same spike. I tried to refresh and reload the data, no help. Then I open Feb contract and the historical data are the same from both charts.

    Why is that?

    Hi cw30000,

    Thank you for your post.

I believe that this has to do with the merging and back-adjusting of data at roll-over. Essentially, the chart is showing the real-time 03-11 bar and historical data from 02-11.

    Please take the following steps:
From the Control Center, open the Options menu by clicking Tools > Options.
In the Options menu, navigate to the Data tab.
In the Data tab of the options menu, set the 'Merge Policy' to 'DoNotMerge', then click OK.

Finally, reload your charts and let me know if things do not normalize.

I am having this same problem. I didn't realize it until later in the day since I forgot to rollover my contract.

I thought it was fixed, but then I realized that my DOM price and my chart price are about $1 different.

I tried to do what was suggested in here about the "merge policy," but when I do it, NT gives me an error and says it has to shut down. I then restart NT, but the option wasn't changed.

        What to do?

EDIT: Also, my Bar Timer isn't working. It's like I'm not connected to my charts, but it's just for the CL charts. My 6E and ES charts are working fine.

I currently use the anti-virus AVG. When I disabled it, the "Merge Policy" worked and now it appears that my charts are working correctly.

The problem with AVG is that it can never really be disabled. I would like to set up some exception to this so that I don't have to keep disabling AVG everyday.

If I reenable AVG is it going to create problems again? I'd have to look into it closer, but I don't know if I can add an exception for NT in AVG.

              Hi Ironman10,

I'm glad to hear that did the trick. It is possible to create exceptions in AVG, but you'll need to contact AVG support to get the exact steps for your version.

I figured out how to add exceptions.

Which file or path would I use to make sure it makes an exception to the right thing?

                  Hi Ironman10,

You'll want to make sure that there is an exception for the C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7 and the My Documents\NinjaTrader 7 directories.
