Can't draw lines past high price of chart

I need to be able to draw trend lines that extend past the highest price on a given price chart. I have never been able to do this as long as I have used NT Beta and now production release 2.

Please explain why this is not supported, or a work around if it is supported. I need to used trend channels to project where the future price might go.

This applies to all drawing objects including text. I can temporarily write text past the high price somewhere on the chart, but as soon as I move it, the text box is auto relocated to align with the high price on the chart.

Thank you for your post.

I do not have any issues using any drawing objects above or below the highest or lowest price.

Please make sure you are not using Snap Mode when drawing these objects on your chart.

To do this, please click on the drawing tools menu item--> select "Snap mode"--> set this to "Disabled".

You should now be able to draw well above and below the current price.

thanks matthew. That worked. I don't understand why snap mode would not draw past high however. the price grid is well defined in terms of ticks and points. I now have to give up the snap in order to do this which makes all the line and object drawing on my charts much harder to get straight.
Could you please forward this as improvement request.

Glad to hear that did the trick. This is because the "Price" option from the snap mode works from the data series and not from the price axis. You would not see this issue with Bar selected from the Snap Mode menu.

I will however forward your suggestion to consider this enhancement in future versions.
