    IB's spot gold ....XAUUSD

    hello,

    I am trying to pull data from Interactive Brokers TWS for newlly supported XAUUSD symbol (spot gold) without success... i am getting this attached error message ...please help...

    Hi trader65,

    Thank you for your post.

    Can you please go to Help-->About within IB's TWS platform and then please clarify the build of IB's TWS you are presently using.

    Additionally, can you please reset the instruments within NinjaTrader. To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Data tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

    Then please repair the database and create a new XAUUSD chart.

    Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.
    • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
    • Select the "Data" tab
    • Press the "Repair DB" button
    • Press the "OK" button


    Then if the issue persists can you please send an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com, and please reference this forum post, put ATTN RyanO, and include your log and trace diagnostic files.

    You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
    • The log file will be named ‘log.YYYYMMDD.txt’

    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
    • The trace file will be named ‘trace.YYYYMMDD.txt’

      Hi RyanO,

      done all that with no success..checked with tws versions 910 and 913 ... same message... please consider that XAUUSD its a new istrument for IB and new istrument type also (METAL) for IB .....don't see that istrument type in NINZATRADER'S instrument manager....

        Hi trader65,

        Regarding that particular instrument if you add it in IB's TWS are you able to get real-time data.

        Additionally, those are currency pairs, and the XAUUSD should be pre-included in the NinjaTrader database. However, since the issue persists can you please forward me your log and trace diagnostic files to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com so that I can review those diagnostic files for a precise cause of the issue.

        When sending the email to support can you please reference this forum thread and put ATTN Ryan O so that we can direct the response accordingly.

          It seems IB is using XAUUSD and type commodity
          instead of XAUUSD type forex
          however I tried with the XAUUSD type currency in Misc Tab IB mapping in Instrument Manager
          the data did not come in to NT7
          even it shows RT tick chart in TWS 913.6

          XAUUSD orders submitted fine on TWS but nothing sent to NT7.

            Hi Trader65 and Meec,

            Make sure to be on TWS 911 as this is the official supported version. It looks like you don't have this installed. Please download it from our website here and let us know if this solves your issue.

              1. Can 2 versions of TWS be installed on the same PC?

              2. Wouldn't it be the issue of setting up the correct symbol type and correct symbol mapping, I just doubt ?

                Hi,

                1) This should be possible, however we only support TWS 911

                2) That could be the case, however install TWS 911 first and then let me know if there are any changes.

                  Hi Vincent,

                  I'm on TWS 911.3,
                  NT7.0.1000.2 connected to TWS.
                  xauusd order accepted on TWS, still no order sent to NT7

                      hi Ninza developers,

                      when this issue will be finnaly resolved ?
                      is it so difficult to fix it ?
                      still persists in 7.1000.5 version, too sad......
