    Historical Data Load Problem

    Hi,

I've just started to migrate to NT7 and I'm loading some historical Forex data. However the Historical Data Manager throws a log entry stating that the time stamp is smaller/equal than the previous line. When I look at the line I can see nothing wrong - please see extract below:

    19991030 205600;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;0
    19991030 205700;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;0
    19991030 205800;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;0
19991030 205900;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;0 <- This is the line reported
    19991030 210000;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;1.6054;0
    19991030 211200;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;1.6055;0

The time stamps are US EST and my local time is GMT so I have selected EST on import which I believe the right thing to do.

I'm using Windows 7, NT "Help->About" reports: .NET/CLR 2.0.50727.4927, NT V 64 bit 7.0.1000.2 Not sure why NT is reporting the older version of .NET as I also have 3.5 installed.

Also I first tried the tick data for this period and got a similar error although I am unable to view the file and check as its too large.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hello Oz,

Could you please provide me the text file you try to import so I can test it on my end.

Please use www.filexpressit.com to send me the file. You can send it to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Please put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread.

          Hi Jason,

A quick update, I imported six forex pairs today (all minute data for the period 1997-2010) and two of them failed at the same point. The one you already have a sample of and another for USDCHF.

Not sure if this information helps!

          Thanks

          Oz

            Hello Oz,

I am able to reproduce the error on my end as well. I have contacted development to further investigate the issue. As soon as there is news regarding the matter, I will let you know.

For now, are you able to split up the text files in two files using the 'offending' line as breakpoint and subsequently import the data in two procedures?

              Hi Jason,

That's great thanks for letting me know. Not a problem as I just removed that part of the file, I was initially concerned as I didn't know if this was going to be one of many instances or a one-off. Fortunately appears to have been just the one case!

              Thanks
              Oz

                Hi !
The same problem. I think that it is the DST change day. In my time zone we change from GMT+2 to GMT+1 this day, so the hour is repeated, I have attached the file, which is GMT.

                Thanks

Edit: confirmed: if I change my computer Time Zone settings to GMT there is not error in the import.
