    Dymanic range chart values

    Hi,

In Strategy Analyser you can run your strategy using Data Series Type: Range and Value 2.

My question is can you backtest the strategy using a dynamic value, so the range chart value can change during the test? or is it static to the value you enter in the Dataseries on analyser?

I want to be able to run a backtest using varying range values you see,

    Thanks,

    Hello james377,

Yes, this is possible. You can set optimize on data series = true, and then additional fields open up where you can optimize this.

but i dont want to optimise this? i want to be able to run a strategy and my code will change the range value during the backtest? for example say i wanted to change the range size depending on another indicators strength?

This is unfortunately not directly possible, you could though Add() multiple range chart series and then work with each series and their indicator values as needed in a MultiSeries strategy.
