    Upgrade from NT7 R1 to NT7 R2

    Hi,

    1) Do I have to uninstall the NT7 R1 before installing the NT7 R2?
    2) I have some commercial system installed using the 3rd party licensing feature. Would it continue working automatically?

    Hi,

There is no need to uninstall. You can install on top.

Close the software and then enter your license on the following page to get to the actual download page:

In addition, see here for the release notes:

Just as an FYI, NT7 R2 is the same version as V7.0.1000.2

I'm having the same issue as kassandra seems to be talking about when trying to install 7.0.1000.2. After entering my license key, I click on the link to start the install of .2, the browsers asks if I want to run setup, I say yes, then the installation package is downloaded (48MB or so) using a dialog with a progress bar, then a dialog pops up to start the actual install, but then I get this dialog which says: Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel." Seems that shouldn't be necessary for an upgrade. I don't want to lose or have to migrate all my settings. I'm running Windows 7 and Ninja was not running when I tried to install. I've rebooted and still the same thing.
      Any ideas?

        Hi,

What you can do is uninstall NinjaTrader 7 from the windows control panel under Programs and Features and then try the upgrade again. You won't lose any settings or strategies since they are saved in a folder that won't be uninstalled.

Let me know if this works for you.

Uninstalling and then installing worked. But it shouldn't be necessary. I speak from the experience of being a software developer for 25 years. You may want to pass a word to the devs and let them know about this.

          Thanks for your quick reply,

          Stephen
