    Trade Display

I just came back to Ninja Trader after several months away. My charts now display every trade I make and I can't find a way to turn off that display. Has this functionality been removed? If not, how do I stop my trades from appearing on my chart?

    Hello Weston,

    Thank you for your note.

This feature is still in NinjaTrader.

Please follow the instructions below to disable the plotting of trade executions.
    • Right click in your chart and select the menu "Data Series..."
    • Find the "Plot executions" parameter for each data series and change the value to "DoNotPlot"
    • Press the "OK" button

See here for more information on working with Data Series > How to edit Data Series parameters:
    http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/working_with_price_data.htm

If you are using NinjaTrader 6.5
    • Right click in your chart -> Properties
    • Find the "Plot executions" parameter for each data series and change the value to "DoNotPlot"
    • Press the "OK" button

OK - next question: how do I change the default display of, say, Fibonacci retracements? I want to see only the 50% retrace and I want certain colors and I want those properties to be the default properties for that drawing object. Thanks.

            Weston,

With NinjaTrader 7, we have added Fibonacci templates. Use the following steps to save a Fibonacci template.
            • After drawing a Fibonacci Retracement double click on the dotted line
            • In the Fibonacci Retracement Properties window set the custom colors, style and percentage anchors
            • Press ‘Apply’
            • Right click within the properties window -> Manage Templates
            • Save as 'Default' and press 'Save' (you can enter text to save different templates)
            • Press 'OK' to save changes and close the Fibonacci Retracement Properties window.

Please see the section Understanding Fibonacci drawing object templates from the following link.

Nice. Thanks. That right click was not intuitively obvious.

On to the next one: how do I set up commissions so they are instrument specific? I see that I can set up multiple commissions but how, for instance, can I specify that the commission I'm charged for ES is $4.25, while the commission for DX is $4.82 or for 6B is $5.25?

                Weston,

To setup instrument specific commissions, please see the following steps.
                1. From the Control Center -> Tools -> Instrument Manager
                2. Search for the instrument you wish to add commissions on
                3. Left click to select it -> Press 'Edit'
                4. From the 'Edit' window -> 'Misc' tab
                5. Expand your broker from the list and add the commission rates
                6. Press 'OK' when finished with the instrument editor
                7. Repeat steps 2 - 6 until all instrument specific commissions have been added.
                8. Press 'OK' on the Instrument Manager when finished
