IB Stop Orders are not accepted, just shown as working

    IB Stop Orders are not accepted, just shown as working

    Starting yesterday, all orders that I submit to IB through Ninja just show as "Working", and are never accepted. As such, everything hangs for me. I thought it might have been a fluke, so I restarted the system today, reboot PC, and still the same issue. My orders go through just fine and the trades are made, it is just the stop orders that are not properly filled.

    I am using the proper TWS version of 906, and I am using NT version 7.0.1000.1. Did something change on 2/15 on the TWS side that I am not getting back the proper accepted code?

    Please advise, this is an urgent issue.

    Thanks for reporting this.

    Let's start by upgrading NT and TWS to more current versions.

    You can download NinjaTrader 7.0.100.2 via the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/download_download.htm

    With the .2 release, you'll need to be using TWS 911.3; it is available here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/Connectio...tion-Guide.php

    If the issue persists with these versions in place, please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with 'ATTN: Kyle' in the subject line.

    In that message, be sure to include the following:
    1.) A link to this forum thread.

    2.) Today's log and trace files:
    You will find the log file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
    • The log file will be named ‘log.20110216.txt’

    You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
    • The trace file will be named ‘trace.20110216.txt’

      I am on it, I will try to restart trading today, but I might just wait for tomorrow when I can be here. Once again, you guys are the best at support. I just wish every company ran their support team like yours.

          Which version of TWS should I use if I have a FA account?

          Kyle,

          I noted the sticky about FA accounts with TWS, I already fixed that whole issue in mid-December, so I do not want to break it again. Which version should I use for TWS?

            The only other version to use would be 906.8, which is what you've already got in place.

              So I am going to upgrade just NT, and leave the version 906.8 in place which was working on Monday.

              Just FYI, they did send out a security card for one of my sub-accounts, and I am making sure that is not enabled. The problem started on 2/15, when the card became active. The funny thing is that the stop orders are placed, it is just that the order status is not returned as "Accepted" like the Sim101 accounts.

              They say that it should not have an effect, but you never know.

                problem still exists

                Kyle,

                I sent you the log and trace files, the order still shows as "Working" instead of "Accepted" which is what is seen on the Sim101 account.

                I upgraded to the 7.1000.2 version of NT, I kept the 906.8 version of TWS, I made sure that the security device was cancelled on the account, and the machine was rebooted before I started trading again.

                Please advise.

                  Update . . .

                  For anyone else reading this thread, I trade NT->TWS, but use FA accounts. On 2/15, it seems as if TWS changed their state of an accepted stop order from "Accepted" to "Working". This is not the behavior on the Sim101 account, which shows the state of an accepted stop order as "Accepted".

                  In my program, I just changed the text of what I am expecting back from a placed stop order from "Accepted" to "Working" and we will see tomorrow if that does the trick.

                  I also sent a note to [email protected], but I have not heard back yet.

                  I will update the thread tomorrow if that fix works.

                    this is crazy . . .

                    The state went back to "Accepted" today . . . they might have had some issues, who knows . . .
