Kinetic EOD Data Date Stamp Out of Sync

I have noticed the date time stamp is out of sync on most but not all stocks. For example, on most stocks the date time stamped for Friday's data is Saturday's date. Then, moving forward on the chart, Monday's data is time stamped with Tuesday's date and so on.

However, there are a few stocks that I observed that the dates are correct.

Can you explain what is happening here? Is there some setting for my NT7 software that is incorrect? The version of my NT7 is 7.0.1000.2. Please let know me what my corrective action should be.

Can you please clarify which time zone you are located in and which instruments in particular you are viewing so that I can further clarify this issue.

HI Ryan,

I am located in the Central European Time Zone (CET). The following 2 stocks are out of sync on my system: Symbols; EV, LNG.
I can probably find more examples, but these 2 are showing the last closing date as 2/19/11. All of their price bars are out of sync by one day with my other chart software from Worden Bros. WB shows the last closing date as 2/18/11 and so on.

Please middle mouse click on the most current bar in one of those charts to load the mini-data box.

What date and time is listed in that box?

Also, please open the Historical Data Manager by clicking Tools > Historical Data Manager.
In the HDM, navigate to the Edit tab.
Next, select the instrument then Last > Day > 2011

What is the last date listed here?

HI Kyle,

I have chosen these 2 stocks to show the problem; EV & AXP. The dates shown for these stocks on my daily chart are; 3/1/2001 & 2/28/2001 respectively.
Following your instructions:

Middle Mouse Click
EV = 3/1/2001 & 00:00
AXP = 2/28/2011 & 22:00
HDM
EV = 2/28/2001
AXP = 2/28/2001

Hope this helps solve this problem. Please let me know if there is something I need to do to setup my system correctly to correct this issue. Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks, this is a great example set to work with.

Let me begin by mentioning that NinjaTrader lists the close time of a bar, not it's open. For example, a minute bar with a time of 9:31:00 AM has data from 9:30:00 AM through 9:30:59 AM.

This convention applies to the date the bar uses as well.

In the case of the AXP bar, the daily bar closes at 22:00 (in your timezone) on the 28th. This being the case, the bar is listed with a date-stamp of the 28th.

In the case of the EV bar - the bar is timestamped with a close time of 0:00 (in your timezone). As this bar technically closes at 00:00 on 3/1, that is the date which is listed for the bar.

Ultimately, the way that NT would be quoting the time on these bars fits in to the convention of listing the close time of the bar, and this is what is displayed on the chart when using your specific timezone and these instruments.
