    Installing IB TWS and NT7

    There is a video as to how to install Interactive Brokers TWS and NT 6.5 but can not find one for NT7.

    1- Could you show me the link to the video if not I need instructions for NT7 latest update connecting to Interactive Brokers TWS..

    2- Is the latest TWS version working with NT7?

    Hi,

    For both V6.5 and V7.0 you need to use TWS 911. You can download this version from our website here:


    The latest TWS version isn't support. At this time we only support TWS 911.

      Hey Guys,

      I have been having an issue connecting using the 911 version from your website. As a test, I upgraded to the latest version IB offers, which is 916 and it connected.

      Which version should I be using now, and if its not 916, is there an issue with the current 911 now and connecting?

        Hi,

        TWS 911 is still the only official supported version. What is the issue you're having with this version?

        TWS 916 isn't supported at this time.

          Hi Vincent,

          The issue I was having is that when I tried to login to my IB account via NT, the TWS opened, but NT never got the green connection status on the bottom left status bar.

          What prompted me to post this issue was that it seemed to work on another computer that had the latest TWS version on it. The issue has since resolved itself, and I am using 911.

            Hi,

            Not sure what was going on as we have not received any other reports.

            You are most likely to connect with TWS 916, however since we have not tested this version we don't know if there are issues that can arrise. Once we are compatible with a newer version of TWS we will post this on our website in the IB connectivity guide. Ryan posted a link for this page in post # 2 of this thread.

                  Hi Vincent,

                  I have another issue.

                  Occasionally, I connect to TWS via NT prior to the Regular US Market open time at 9:30 EST. This morning when I connected at 10:00 AM, the connection was showing properly at via the bottom left toolbar (green connection), and the TWS is up and connected. The issue appears when after 9:30 I don't have any real-time quotes coming in. After I restart NT and reconnect, I get real-time data.

                  I am running TWS 911.03 and NT 7.0.1000.2

                  Thoughts?

                    Hello Anthony,

                    Vince is currently not in the office, so I will respond for him.

                    Can you please tell me if you do not receive real-time data in just charts or you do not receive real-time data anywhere in NinjaTrader such as a SuperDOM, Control Center-->Orders-tab or Time and Sales window.

                    Am I correct the lower left corner of the Control Center states 'Connected' in green when you do not receive real-time data?

                    Do you see any error messages in the Control Center-->Log-tab around that time? If so, please let me know what the error messages state.

                      Thanks for the reply.

                      I didn't note if I was receiving data in the other windows; I'll be sure to check if it happens again.

                      Yes, the lower left corner states "connected" in green.

                      I don't have any errors in the Log-Tab.

                      If there's any other information you'll need to know please let me know. I'll be sure to gather whatever is needed.

                        Can you please send me your log and trace files for the day the issue occurred last. You can find log and trace files at the following locations.

                        Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Log--> log.20110310 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

                        Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 7--> Trace--> trace.20110310 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

                        Please send them to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header and reference this forum thread. I will investigate the files for any indication that would clarify the issue.
