Using Market Replay

Hi There,

Is it necessary to record information in real time to use the market replay capability?

The real question here is ... Is there any way other than setting up the market replay recorder to replay a day in the market. Can a trader 'download' the day's action and replay it on a Saturday (for instance)?

Thank you for your post.

If you are using NinjaTrader 7, Market Replay data can be downloaded from NinjaTrader servers.

This can be done from the Control Center -> File -> Utilities -> Download Replay Data

Outstanding. There is not much need to record things during the day in this case I can just go what I need when I need it.

1 I follow the series of instructions to Ninja, but all I get is a chart which runs for a few minutes, then stops.

2. Connect to cqg
3. Go to control center
4. file
5. utilities
6. download replay data
7. select instrument from “Name” drop down
8. select date
9. download available L1
10. click ok
11. disconnect from cqg
12. reconnect to market replay
13. open chart

I have run this on numerous occasions over the last 2 months with NO success.

Any help would be great

Hello Birdy,

Thank you for your post.

After connecting completing the steps above, right click on your Market Replay Controller -> Available Data.

Expand any instruments in the Available Data window and note the time frame that is available.

Next, right click and select 'Go To' and enter a date and time that was listed in the Available Data.

Open a chart to the same instrument listed in the Available data and press 'Play'
