chart not updating

    chart not updating



    note the screen capture

    in the chart trader they are updating but the chart is not displaying the bars, nor marking the current quote???/

    How to fix?

    I also check it's 24/7 session

    it was working

    quotes from IB on CL 05-11 are working and match the charttrader wdo

      Hi dcmdp,

      Thank you for your post.

      On your chart can you please verify you are viewing a 24 hour chart. To retrieve 24/7 data on a chart, please follow the directions below.
      • Right click in your chart and select Data Series.
      • In the Data Series menu, set the "Session Template" property to "Default 24/7", then click OK.


      As an update to this item since you are viewing the 24/7 template, can you please right-click on the chart and then select Reload Historical Data, and then if you compare a chart to the price in the SuperDOM do the last traded prices match what is shown on the chart.

        I did what you said and got this:



        a bad chart, note the real chart in the bot left
        note I have 24/7 done and I reloaded historical data

        What now?

          Hi dcmdp,

          Thank you for that latest screenshot.

          To resolve this issue can you please go to Tools > Instrument Manager and then find the CL contract and then highlight and hit the Edit button.

          In the definitions tab can you please change your Merge Policy for this contract to DoNotMerge, and then please hit OK and exit the Instrument Manager.

          Then please create a new CL 05-11 chart.

            that fixed it,

            now can I turn merge setting back on?

            I'm unclear as to what happened. I didn't change any settings and it did that....strange huh?

            Is there something I did wrong? Or could this be some kind of bug?
            I read about others that had feeds in the DOM and Charttrader but not on the chart.

              Hi dcmdp,

              Glad to hear that fixed the issue, and what is occurring is that the historical data from the 04-11 contract is merged into the 05-11 contract based on the defined roll-over date being in the future.

              Since you are viewing the 05-11 contract now I would recommend that you leave that setting off until the roll-over date for the 04-11 contract passes on the 21st so that anytime you view a 05-11 CL chart until then the historical data is for the 05-11 contract only.
