Unknown instrument

Hello,

I have successfully imported historical data for an instrument (stock) that does not exist in the Instrument Manager. I see my new instrument in the Historical Data Manager. But when I try to generate a chart, I get an error message that says 'Unable to load historical data: unknown instrument.'

Any pointers?

Thank you for your post.

Can you please clarify the instrument that you imported is showing in the Instrument Manager which you can do from the Tools > Instrument Manager and then search:

Then can you please highlight the instrument and then hit the Edit button, and then let us know the information contained in the Misc tab for the instrument.

Hi -- It is showing in the Instrument Manager. In the Misc. tab, under Commission I see all zeros, under Symbol Map the 4-letter name I gave the instrument, and no dividends, no splits defined.

FYI, This is a totally made-up instrument -- it does not exist in the real world. It only exists in my made-up historical data file, which I would like a chart of. :-)

From the instrument manager if you add that instrument to a list and then chart can you please then create a chart of that instrument.
