    Last candle wrong

    Hello,

after the rollover on 10th March, NinjaTrader always displays the last candle on the graph much bigger than the previous one. In addition, this candle always shows a candle, which should come 5 minutes later and which wasnt set already.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Thanks.

    Hello sentrix,

    Thank you for your post.

Which version of NinjaTrader are you using, 6.5 or 7? (Help > About)

        Hi sentrix,

        Thanks for the clarification.

From the Control Center, please open the Options menu by clicking Tools > Options.
In the Options menu, navigate to the Data tab.
In the Options menu's Data tab, set the 'Merge Policy' to 'DoNotMerge', then click OK.

Finally, reload chart data and tell me if the issue persists.

          Problem

It worked, but theres another problem. The history of the graph completely changed, there are lots of free places now. Is it common?

          Thanks.

            Hi sentrix,

Merge policy settings will change what data shows on the chart based on how data from prior contracts is merged in to the current. For more information about merge policies, please see the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...rical_data.htm

I am facing 'similar' problem with eSignal and I am using version 6.5. What happens is, whenever chart of any new symbol is loaded, the last candle is always very big. This is irrespective of whether it is expiry day or not. If I right click on chart and reload historical data, this candle corrects itself and entire chart is then ok. Once this is done and there is data of this symbol in NinjaTrader, any number of times you open same symbol (in same session or even after restarting NT / computer), the symbol loads data correctly.

Is there any setting I am missing ?

                Hello chart_trader,

What interval of chart would you be looking at in this scenario?

Is eSignal the only data provider you're connecting to?

Which build of NinjaTrader 6.5 do you use? (Help > About)

Thanks for your super fast response. Regarding the clarifications wanted by you :

                  1. 1minute. But this happens even if chart is opened with 5min timeframe.
                  2. Yes.
                  3. 6.5.1000.19

Also, this happens even when market is closed.

                  Thanks in advance.

                    Hi chart_trader,

Thanks for getting back to me on those questions.

Please open the Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > DB folder, right click on the file named 'NinjaTrader' and select Properties.

What size is this file reported to be?

                        Hi chart_trader,

                        Thanks for checking that.

Please rename your database by following the steps listed below. Doing so will cause NinjaTrader to create a new database on start up. Because of this, historical chart data will need to be reloaded. Likewise, ATM strategy templates, custom instruments and instrument lists will need to be recreated.

                        To rename the database:
                        • Shutdown NinjaTrader.
                        • Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > DB folder.
                        • Right click on NinjaTrader.mdb and select "Rename." *
                        • Rename the file 'OLDNinjaTrader.mdb'.
                        • Finally, restart NinjaTrader.

I did as guided by you and it indeed loaded all symbols from scratch i.e. with historical data as requested by me. But again, the rightmost candle is VERY BIG. As it appears, it shows its Open and Close correctly but it incorrectly shows its High and Low as highest high and lowest low of the entire dataset (of entire historical data).

Previously I had tried reinstalling NT as well - but it did not help either.

                            Hi chart_trader,

Can you provide me with an image of your chart so that I may compare to what I see here?
